    WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Over the course of the past five years, I've had the privilege of championing our environmental mission alongside the highly-skilled and capable workforce within the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE).   • Norfolk District contract award delivers boost to Lynnhaven Inlet navigation

    Norfolk District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers awarded a 120-day period of performance contract to Cottrell Contracting Corp. for the Lynnhaven Inlet Federal Navigation Project. The project serves commercial and recreational users in the city of Virginia Beach, the nonfederal sponsor, providing value to the both the economy and leisure opportunities.

  • Pittsburgh District to Host Ribbon Cutting at Brady’s Run

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Pittsburgh District is hosting a Ribbon Cutting celebrating the completion of the Brady’s Run stream bank stabilization, April 11.

  • The Kunkle Sanitary Sewer project receives Section 594 assistance from USACE

    Buffalo, NY – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Buffalo District has entered into an agreement with the Williams County Board of Commissioners to provide approximately $1M in funding to go toward sanitary sewer collection and wastewater treatment improvements.

  • Corps awards nearly $1 billion in border barrier contracts

    U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Task Force Barrier, in partnership with U.S. Customs and Border Protection, awarded two contracts totaling nearly $1 billion April 9 for the removal and replacement of vehicle fencing with pedestrian fencing along the southwest border.

  • 19-032 Boise River flows will increase this week

    BOISE, Idaho – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the Bureau of Reclamation will continue to increase flows through the City of Boise. Currently, Boise River flows through town are about 1,200 cubic-feet-per-second (cfs) and will increase by 500 cfs throughout today, Tuesday, April 9, 2019, as measured at the Glenwood Bridge gauge. Flows will increase by another 500 cfs daily, on Wednesday, April 10, Thursday, April 11, and Friday, April 12, incrementally reaching approximately 3,200 cfs by late-Friday evening.

  • 19-031 Lower Monumental Dam’s navigation lock temporarily changes hours of operation April 9-12

    KAHLOTUS, Wash. – Lower Monumental Dam’s navigation lock, located at Snake River Mile 41.6 near Kahlostus, Washington, will temporarily be closed to vessel traffic from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on April 9-12, according to operations officials with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Walla Walla District.
