    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (June 26, 2015) –The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District collaborated with the Tennessee State University College of Engineering, Technology and Computer Science Department to mentor science, technology, engineering and math students involved in a four-week National Summer Transportation Institute program on the campus of TSU June 22 through July 3.

    JAMESTOWN, Ky. (Aug. 8, 2014) – U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District, Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, state legislators and Russell County officials held a ceremony today marking the groundbreaking for a $1.8 million Wolf Creek Hatchery Wetland and Stream Mitigation Program project below the Wolf Creek National Fish Hatchery.
  • NR 13-031 Lake Cumberland Annual Drawdown has begun

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (August 1, 2013) – The annual drawdown of Lake Cumberland has been initiated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District. If no significant rainfall events are experienced, then the lake level is expected to drop below elevation 700 feet by mid-August.

James DeLapp welcomed The Mississippi River Commission and guests for a tour of the Lake Barkley Dam Power plant, and the Kentucky Lock Addition Project during a portion of their Annual Low-Water Inspection Trip Aug. 11.
  • Temple tours Lake Barkley and flooded areas in Kentucky

    KUTTAWA, Ky. (June 2, 2011) – U.S. Army Corps of Engineers District Commander, Lt. Col. Anthony Mitchell welcomed the (acting) U.S. Army Chief of Engineers and Commanding General, Maj. Gen Merdith W. B. (Bo) Temple to Kentucky for a tour of the Lock, the Lake Barkley Dam and Power plant, the town of Smithland and various flood protection barriers, structures and pumping stations along the levees in Paducah, Ky. Temple also took the opportunity to observe firsthand the progress that the Nashville District is making on several major projects at the Kentucky Lock.
