Despite Clouds, Stars Still Shine at Cochiti Star Party
District staff hosted a star party at Cochiti Lake, N.M., Sept. 3, 2016. Participants were able to see several planets and constellations despite variable cloudiness.

Training Helps Regulators in Identifying Wetland Plants
For District regulators, knowing a grass from a sedge is not just a trivial pursuit question. Jurisdictional wetlands are determined in part by what plants are present. Robert Sivinski recently instructed a hands-on, three-day course to help the participants improve their skills in identifying New Mexico wetland plants.

Archaeological field school re-digs history at Abiquiu Lake
Eight undergraduate students from the University of Oklahoma recently got their hands dirty re-excavating the Palisade Ruin located on Corps-managed land at Abiquiu Lake. They were participating in a five-week archaeological field school designed to teach them how to do actual archaeological field work.
