    GALVESTON, Texas (Sept. 27, 2013) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Galveston District awarded a contract in the amount of $547,000 to RLB Contracting, a woman-owned small business, for an oyster restoration project located within the northernmost extent of the Half Moon Reef in Matagorda Bay, Texas.

    USACE Galveston District awards $1.36 million small business contract for Alexander Island Placement Area DAMP

    GALVESTON, Texas (Sept. 27, 2013) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Galveston District, awarded a contract in the amount $1,369,515.74 to Integris Projects LLC (a Small Business Administration 8(a) contractor), for dewatering of the Alexander Island Placement Area relating to the Houston Ship Channel in Harris County, Texas.

    Compton Creek: thinking globally, acting locally

    Arthur Kill Channel Deepening Provides safe and economically efficient pathway for the newest generation of container ships

    A dredge in the Arthur Kill Channel approaching the New York Container Terminal in waters off of Elizabeth, N.J. and Staten Island. The Arthur Kill Channel deepening effort is one of the last construction elements as part of a more extensive harbor-dredging project to create safe and efficient channels for a larger class of vessels that will be calling at the Port of New York and New Jersey.

    USACE Galveston District awards $1.8 million Sims Bayou contract

    GALVESTON, Texas (Sept. 27, 2013) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Galveston District, awarded a contract to Kimrick Performance Group LLC, a 8(a) small business, in the amount of $1,877,831 for construction of a wider channel bottom that will enable larger storm water conveyance at Sims Bayou, in the vicinity of Hiram Clarke and Buxley bridges.

    Truman lake Cove closed for Zebra Mussel Treatment

    U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and Missouri Department of Conservation Officials are working together to try and prevent the spread of Zebra mussels in Truman Lake. Zebra Mussels were discovered on the Grand River Arm of Truman Lake adjacent to the Tightwad boat launching ramp earlier this month. Therefore the cove located adjacent to Sky Village known as County Line Boat Ramp will be closed beginning Sunday evening, Sept, 29 for approximately 48-72 hours in order to execute the treatment.
