2014 Grenada Lake Fish Habitat Day

Vicksburg, Miss… The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Vicksburg District will host the 2014 Fish Habitat Day Saturday, 15 February 2014 at Grenada Lake. The date is subject to change if unfavorable weather conditions occur, or if the lake level is too high. Volunteers are asked to report to the Hugh White State Park Lodge Saturday morning at 8:00 a.m. The event will consist of volunteers placing stake beds in the lake bottom and coves to create and improve the fish habitat. This year, stake beds will be constructed in the Gibbs Hollow and Wolf Creek areas.

Learn about the Historic Clock Tower building as you climb the stairs to the top. Waiting there is a spectacular view of the Mississippi River where you will have the opportunity to see Bald Eagles who visit our area during the cold winter months.

Corps of Engineers begins Lake Washington annual summer refill Feb. 15

U.S. Army Corps of Engineers officials will begin Lake Washington annual summer refill operations Feb. 15. Water managers are targeting a typical annual refill of the lake to 22 feet with an interim target of 21.90 feet by early May. Fill rates and target elevations vary through May based on conditions.

White River - At 11:00 a.m. on January 31 the tailwater elevation at Norrell Lock and Dam was 128.60 ft-msl and the headwater elevation at Montgomery Point Lock and Dam was 124.89 ft-msl, with a differential of 3.71 feet.
