    GALVESTON, Texas (Aug. 22, 2016) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Galveston District awarded a contract to Manson Construction Company in the amount of $5,189,300 for maintenance dredging within the Entrance Channel of the Sabine-Neches Waterway, Texas.
  • Gavins Point Dam crest road closure changed to August 23-26

    Crest Road, the road that crosses the Gavins Point Dam near Yankton, SD, will be closed from 7:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 23 through 5 p.m. Friday, Aug. 26 to repave the roadway. This closure will include nighttime hours. The public is asked to plan on an alternate route of travel during this time.
  • Miami Beach sand project starts soon

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Jacksonville District announces that construction will start tomorrow for the Miami Beach erosional Hotspots beach renourishment. The $11.9 million project is part of the Miami-Dade County Beach Erosion Control and Hurricane Protection Project. The Corps’ contractor, Eastman Aggregate Enterprises, LLC of Lake Worth, Florida, will start mobilizing equipment at the 46th Street access and staging area tomorrow, and place sand on the beach in that area within the next few weeks.
