    MOUNTAIN HOME, Ark. – One lane of Highway 177 across Norfork Lake will remain closed through Feb. 28, 2017 to conduct maintenance on the dam’s two power plant penstock gates.

    HIGHWAY 178 BRIDGE ACROSS BULL SHOALS DAM TO TEMPORARILY CLOSE

    MOUNTAIN HOME, Ark. – The Corps of Engineers will close both lanes of Highway 178 across Bull Shoals Dam from 7 a.m. Dec. 19 until 7 p.m. Dec. 20, weather permitting, to install equipment needed to refurbish the tainter gates on Bull Shoals Dam.

    District Names Mississippi Valley Division Geotechnical Regional Technical Specialist

    VICKSBURG, MISS…The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Vicksburg District, recently selected Heather Sibley as a Mississippi Valley Division (MVD) geotechnical regional technical specialist. In this position, Sibley will serve as a regional subject matter expert in the geotechnical engineering community of practice. She will also serve as a leader on complex, non-routine dam and levee safety modifications and geotechnical analyses.

(Dec. 5, 2016) – A new online video feed is going “live” Dec. 12 that allows anyone with Internet access or Twin Lakes TV to observe American Bald Eagles nesting, hatching and fledging on the shoreline of Dale Hollow Lake.     Tribal interests represented on Missouri River committee

    The Missouri River Recovery Implementation Committee (MRRIC) met here Nov. 15-17 to receive an overview of the Missouri River Recovery Program’s (MRRP) draft Missouri River Recovery Management Plan-Environmental Impact Statement (EIS), scheduled for public release in December, from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Corps). Tribes were represented by Dr. Emerson Bullchief, Crow Nation; Dr. Andrea Hunter, Osage Nation; Dr. Kelly Morgan, Standing Rock Sioux Tribe; Alan Kelley, Iowa Tribe of Kansas and Nebraska; Elizabeth Wakeman, Flandreau Santee Sioux Tribe; Reno Red Cloud, Oglala Sioux Tribe; and Shannon Wright, Ponca Tribe of Nebraska.
