Have you ever just met someone who gives off a certain type of aura or energy that makes you feel a little more calm or at ease? This person had it. Here from St. Joseph, Missouri, her name is Jonna Henry, and she works for a subcontractor in Safety. I guess her occupation explains that aura I felt earlier.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Vicksburg District will reopen select campgrounds at its Arkansas lakes – Lake Ouachita, Lake Greeson and DeGray Lake – beginning May 20.
  • Army Corps delays Albeni Falls Dam recreation season

    U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) officials at Albeni Falls Dam have delayed its recreation season. Subject to state and federal changes in guidance the Corps is now tentatively scheduled to open Albeni Falls Dam recreation areas on June 19. The delay provides greater flexibility to contractors and protects against further spread of the coronavirus.
  • Boat ramp near Santee closed

    In coordination with the Santee Sioux Tribe, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers managed boat ramp in the vicinity of Santee will be closed effective today. The closure will assist local efforts in combating the spread of COVID-19 within the local communities and will remain in effect until May 27, 2020.
  • Mobile District Announces Transmission Line Repairs at Allatoona Lake Project

    As Georgia Power rebuilds the Cartersville transmission line at the Allatoona Lake project, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Mobile District wishes to advise the public that as repairs are underway, the project spillway gates will be utilized to make releases managing lake levels and providing downstream environmental management.
  • Ice Jams Trigger Operation of the Moose Creek Dam on Chena River

    For the first time since operation of the Moose Creek Dam began in 1981, ice jams in the Chena River were the reason that the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers – Alaska District regulated stream flow to successfully prevent flooding of communities in the Fairbanks North Star Borough from April 24 to 30.
  • Corps issues contract to build COVID-19 Montana Alternate Care Facility

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Omaha District has awarded a $2.6 million contract to build an Alternate Care Facility in Kalispell, Montana, to aid in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • Blue Marsh Lake Water Road Access Area Closed

    Due to land clearing and excavation activity involved with the construction of a pipeline from Blue Marsh Dam to the Western Berks Water Authority water treatment plant, the Water Road access area will be closed for public access. This includes trail access and stream access for fishing.
