    USACE Buffalo District awards contract for seawall repair at LaSalle Park

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Buffalo District awarded a $6.11 million contract to Cold Spring Construction Company, from Akron, NY, on June 25 to repair over 1,300 feet of seawall, which has deteriorated over time due to Lake Erie ice and wave action, at the northern section of LaSalle Park, Buffalo, NY.

    National Recreation and Parks Month - USACE Chicago District highlights its three recreation areas

    This month we celebrate National Recreation and Parks Month. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is one of the nation's leading federal providers of outdoor recreation with more than 400 lake and river projects in 43 states. Visitors of all ages can enjoy traditional activities like hiking, boating, fishing, camping, and hunting. Ninety percent of the Corps’ recreation areas are located within 50 miles of a major metropolitan center.

    Vicksburg District to increase Eagle Lake drawdown rate

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Vicksburg District, in collaboration and agreement with its local, state and federal partners, plans to operate the Muddy Bayou Control Structure to lower the elevation of Eagle Lake, located approximately 10 miles north of Vicksburg, Mississippi, by as much as 0.5 feet per day beginning June 30.
