The project was designed in-house by Seattle District and was accepted by Savannah District as one of the floor plan standards. It happened to be the first time Ecotect was used on a Corps project for daylighting analysis. This photo is of the Readiness bays. The original standard suggested using windows on the sidewall, after conducting the analysis it proved to be more efficient for prefabricated semi-transparent skylights and sidewall kalwall windows instead. This project excelled in creating cost effective solutions while still achieving LEED GOLD rating. The Project Team included Kyle Shaw, Renn Breshears, Jennifer Ramirez, Kelli Polzin, Tyler Bush, Glen Chihara, Dennis Brandt, Anton Klein, Sean Irby, and Rod Perry, and David Wong.

Federal Center South Building 1202 was a design-build project. The architect for the project incorporated the concept of biophilia into the design of the building which resulted in effective use of daylighting and interior floor plan layouts such that the outdoors could be viewed from virtually any place within the building. This promotes higher employee productivity and work place satisfaction.
