  • With Largest USACE Investment, Great Sodus Bay Breakwater Repair Out for Proposals

    A work package from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Buffalo District for repairs to the Great Sodus Bay East Breakwater is officially out for proposals. $20 million dollars is already allocated towards the 100% federally funded project, marking the largest investment ever in Great Sodus Bay by the Corps of Engineers.

  • U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to resume Rochester Harbor east pier repairs Spring 2021

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Buffalo District, and its contractor, Dean Marine & Excavating, Inc., are scheduled to resume repairs of the Rochester Harbor east pier, located in Rochester, New York, in Spring 2021. The remaining repairs, the concrete cap and pier lighting, are expected to be completed within a month of resuming construction.

    The USACE and U.S. EPA will host a media event with guest speakers, Thursday, August 13 at 1 p.m., at the Westpoint Marina at Braddock Bay located at 105 E Manitou Rd., Rochester, NY 14612, to celebrate the completion of the Braddock Bay ecosystem restoration project and moving the Rochester Embayment Area of Concern (AOC) one step closer to delisting.
