LEESPORT, PA (28 MARCH 2025) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Philadelphia District has announced various areas will be closed for public access due to paving and construction activities involved with the rehabilitation of park roadways.

Army Corps announces road closure at Francis E. Walter Dam

The U.S. Army Corps Engineers’ Philadelphia District announced sections of Walter Dam Road (and through traffic between Bear Creek Road and Route 940) will be closed from April 26 through June 30 for repairs and road reconstruction.

21-017 Parking lot at Mill Creek to be closed April 6 for paving

Walla Walla, WA -- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Walla Walla District (Corps) will be paving the parking lot adjacent to the Mill Creek Office building on April 6. This work will result in the closure of the parking lot and road to the Mill Creek Office for that day.

Blue Marsh Lake Day Use Area to be Closed for Paving Project

Due to paving and construction activities involved with the rehabilitation of park roadways, the Dry Brooks Day Use Area will be closed for public access. This includes all facilities within the Day Use Area including the swim beach, pavilions, the Eyes of the Eagle Sensory Trail, and bathroom buildings. The closure will take place starting April 01, 2021 through May 28, 2021.

UPDATE: Army Corps updates road closure status at Francis E. Walter Dam

The U.S. Army Corps Engineers’ Philadelphia District announced the Route 940 entrance to the Francis E. Walter Dam will reopen on Sept. 21, 2020 (delayed from the previously announced date of Sept. 18, 2020). The Bear Creek White Haven Road entrance to the dam will then close to traffic as road repairs shift to that area.
