    Researchers from the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC) participated in a railroad exercise aimed at strengthening transportation infrastructure resilience across NATO countries.
  • USACE emerging construction mission in Norway supports regional security, interoperability

    Construction is getting underway later this year to upgrade perimeter fencing here as part of a growing military construction program in Norway being managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The work is the first of five already planned European Deterrence Initiative projects for the base. In addition to facilitating interoperability, training and international exercises, the European Deterrence Initiative projects aim to enhance the readiness of Rygge Air Station to support the capability of U.S. forces, Norwegian forces, NATO Allies, and partners to rapidly respond to any situation in the region should the need arise.
  • USACE engineer support team provides expertise, broadens professional experience on European deployment

    Headquartered at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers - Alaska District and staffed with engineering professionals from throughout USACE, the 62nd Forward Engineer Support Team – Advanced, or FEST-A, is one of eight expeditionary teams that provides rapidly deployable engineering capabilities throughout the world. Primarily composed of civilian employees, these critical personnel groups perform infrastructure damage assessments, environmental surveys and building plans in support of the Army’s mission abroad.
  • USACE construction in Baltics enhances U.S., NATO capabilities and supports regional security

    Over the past several years, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has delivered various projects in Estonia and neighboring Baltic countries Latvia and Lithuania through the European Deterrence Initiative where military infrastructure is built to enhance the U.S. deterrence posture, increase the readiness and responsiveness of U.S. forces in Europe, support the collective defense and security of NATO allies, and bolster the security and capacity of U.S. allies and partners.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Europe District is working on several missions in Poland in support of its NATO allies that include housing, equipping, and training U.S. troops. These missions aim to deter and not escalate potential aggression and provide a sense of security for citizens of NATO countries. 
  • U.S. Army Corps of Engineers construction in Poland reassures allies and supports regional security

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Europe District’s Northern Europe Area Office in Poznan, Poland has been the focal point for the Corps of Engineers’ more than $350 million construction mission in Poznan and many other sites throughout Poland over the past several years. These projects are already benefiting both U.S. forces stationed in Poland on a rotational basis as well as the Polish hosts operating the bases.
  • Providing solutions worldwide

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ vision is, “Engineering solutions for our Nation’s toughest challenges.” Not only does this vision relate to challenges here in the United States, but it applies to those encountered all over the world. Part of working toward that vision asks our employees to deploy and sometimes work for and with other agencies overseas. Recently, two members of the Memphis District volunteered to do just that.
