    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Feb. 21, 2019) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District continues to monitor stream conditions throughout the Cumberland River Basin and to manage the release of water from its 10 dams as heavy rain continues to impact the region this week.

  • NR 17-043: Martins Fork Dam, fishing pier area closing for debris removal

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Dec. 26, 2017) — The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District announces that Martins Fork Dam and fishing pier area are closing Jan. 8, 2018 for approximately 30 days while crews work to remove accumulated debris from the stilling basin. A structural inspection is also being performed during the closure.

  • NR 15-026: Corps holding back water in Cumberland River Basin

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (July 8, 2015) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District is holding back water and limiting releases at its dams to relieve high-water levels on the lower Ohio and Mississippi Rivers where record seasonal flooding is underway.

  • NR 14-012: Corps offering public tours of Martins Fork Dam

    SMITH, Ky. (May 15, 2014) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District is offering public tours of Martins Fork Dam here Saturday, June 7, June 28, July 12, July 26, Aug. 9 and Aug. 23, 2014. The free guided tours of the structure are at 2 p.m. and are approximately 45 minutes in length.

  • NR 13-028: Corps offering public tours of Martins Fork Dam

    SMITH, Ky. (July 15, 2013) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District is offering public tours of Martins Fork Dam here Saturday, July 27 and Aug. 17, 2013. Visitors can choose from a 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. tour time. Guided tours of the structure are free to the public and are approximately 45 minutes in length.

  • NR 13-015: Nashville District announces implementation of restrictions around dams

    NASHVILLE, TENN. (April 30, 2013) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District is beginning to implement permanent full-time waterborne restrictions around the 10 dams on the Cumberland River and its tributaries this week. Enforcement of these restrictions will be effective when the placement of buoys and sufficient signs is completed at each dam.

  • NR 12-046: Nashville District announces plans to tighten restrictions around Corps Dams

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District is finalizing plans to implement 24/7 restricted waterborne access to hazardous waters immediately upstream and downstream of all Corps-owned locks and dams, flood control dams and multipurpose dams on the Cumberland River and its adjoining tributaries. This action moves the Nashville District into full compliance with Corps regulations.
