  • Public invited to meetings scheduled for upcoming Water Control Manual updates

    Updates to Water Control Manuals and reviews of the Water Control Plans for Milford, Tuttle Creek, Perry and Clinton Dams and Reservoirs will be the subject of a series of public meetings held by the Kansas City District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, from early to mid-August 2023. The public is invited to learn more about how USACE uses the Water Control Manuals at each of its reservoirs, how the updates will be done and to provide their input. The meetings are being publicized together because many people visit more than one reservoir in a year or have interests in water resources encompassing more than one location.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Charleston District’s Operations Division has a multi-faceted mission. It delivers navigation, hydropower, asset management, geospatial and emergency management solutions to the state of South Carolina and the nation. The man responsible for this broad mission is Scott Glass, the division’s chief.

    Congratulations to Andrea Williams on her selection as the new Operations Division’s (OD) Chief!  Williams has served in the OD Chief position on temporary assignment since January.   
  • Humphrey named Louisville District Operations Division Chief

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Louisville District announces that Mr. Waylon Humphrey has been selected to serve as the new Operations Division Chief for the district effective November 22, 2021.
  • USACE Vicksburg District announces new Emergency Management Branch chief

    VICKSBURG, Miss. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Vicksburg District has selected a new Emergency Management Branch chief to lead and inform throughout crises situations. Robert Hess will serve as the principal advisor to USACE Vicksburg District Commander Col. Robert Hilliard on all matters relating to natural and technological disasters, national security emergencies, civil disturbances, and terrorism activities. He will also manage the Vicksburg District Emergency Management program.
  • Kansas City Corps of Engineers updates Missouri River channel and river structure repairs

    The Kansas City District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers provides a report on the actions taken to repair and mitigate damage done to river structures on the Missouri River from high water over the last several years including major flooding in 2019.
  • Chief of engineers presents ‘Safety Award of Excellence’ to Nashville District

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Nov. 12, 2020) – The 55th chief of engineers presented the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Safety Award of Excellence, district category, to Nashville District officials today during the USACE National Awards Ceremony.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, selected Eden Prairie, Minnesota, resident Bruce Boldon as its 2018 Hall of Fame recipient.
  • Marcum named Nashville District Employee of the Month for September 2017

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Nov. 21, 2017) – Joshua Marcum, Power Plant Mechanic at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District’s Cheatham Power Plant in Ashland City, Tenn., is the employee of the month for September 2017.
