    Due to high water levels inundating all of the day use areas on the Cochiti side of the lake, these areas have been closed until further notice. This includes the Swim Beach and the boat ramp day use area.

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Oct. 1, 2020) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District announces that it will resume the collection of fees at its day use recreation areas beginning Oct. 8. Fee collections were suspended earlier this year when recreation areas were closed due to COVID-19 precautions.
  • Kansas City District waiving collection of day use fees for October & November

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Kansas City District, announced today that it will waive the collection of fees at its day use recreation areas for the months of October and November. Fee collections were suspended earlier this year at boat ramps and swimming beaches when recreation areas were closed due to COVID-19 precautions. USACE plans to resume its day use fees in the spring of 2021.

(June 23, 2020) – As part of a phased approach for reopening recreation facilities following COVID-19 closures, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District is opening additional Corps-managed day use recreation areas and amenities within the Cumberland River Basin in Kentucky June 29, 2020.
  • USACE Albuquerque District lakes scheduled to begin phased reopening

    USACE-Albuquerque District announced May 15, 2020, that USACE-managed lakes in New Mexico and southeastern Colorado are scheduled to begin the first part of a phased reopening. The initial reopening date will vary from lake to lake due to local and state conditions. See the news release for lake-specific information.
  • Corps of Engineers squashes rumors about reservoir access

    SAVANNAH, Ga. – Consistent rumors abound concerning access to Thurmond Lake, Russell Lake and Hartwell Lake on the upper Savannah River for boating and fishing. Boating and fishing remain OPEN. Campgrounds and day-use areas at Thurmond and Hartwell lakes operated by the Corps of Engineers are closed until further notice. Boat ramps inside campgrounds and other boat ramps with gates are closed. Boat ramps without gates remain OPEN. Bank fishing remains OPEN.

    CARTHAGE, Tenn. (April 18, 2019) – Cordell Hull Lake is offering the America the Beautiful Recreation Passes and Corps of Engineers Annual Pass for the 2019 recreation season from May 1 until Sept. 2, 2019 at its developed recreation areas.
