Elevated E. coli levels close Gremlin Cove Beach at Harlan County Lake

Due to high E. Coli concentrations, officials at Harlan County Lake have closed the Gremlin Cove Beach. Officials will retest the water on June 11, 2024, and results will be available the following day. The beach will remain closed until levels fall below 235 colonies per 100 ml water.

U.S. Army Corps resumes Grand Haven dredging with additional E.coli testing

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Detroit District (USACE) will resume dredging in Grand Haven Harbor on Wednesday, July 12, with additional testing for E. Coli and safety measures. King Co. Inc., under an Army Corps contract, will dredge the remaining 35,000 of 141,000 cubic yards of sediment contracted to be removed from the outer harbor in Grand Haven to keep the commercial channel navigable throughout the remainder of the year. The Army Corps paused dredging at the location Friday, July 7, out of an abundance of caution after the Ottawa County Health Department issued a “no body contact” warning because of high concentrations of E. coli at North Park Beach in Ferrysburg. Corps reopens swim beaches on Lake Dardanelle

RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Russellville Site Office has reopened swim beaches at Piney Bay and Shoal Bay parks located on Lake Dardanelle. The swim beaches no longer have a higher than acceptable level of E. coli.

Outlet Park Beach closed at Melvern Lake

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Melvern Lake announce the immediate closure of Outlet Park Beach due to elevated levels of E. coli bacteria, which could cause health risks. The beach will be closed until further notice and will re-open as soon as E. coli have returned to safe levels. Corps officials will have the water at the beach tested again Sunday, June 30, 2019, to determine whether the beach can be opened for the holiday weekend.
