New Orleans -- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New Orleans District has scheduled a virtual public meeting regarding the West Shore Lake Pontchartrain project.
The meeting will be live-streamed on Wednesday, October 21 at 10 a.m. on the project’s Facebook page at: facebook.com/WestShoreLakePontchartrain.
The West Shore Lake Pontchartrain project is located in southeast Louisiana on the east-bank of the Mississippi River in St. Charles, St. John the Baptist, and St. James Parishes. The purpose of the project is to construct a hurricane risk reduction system extending from the Bonnet Carré spillway to Garyville.
This project was authorized as part of the Bipartisan Budget Act of 2018. Non-federal sponsors for the project include the Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority (CPRA) and the Pontchartrain Levee District.
