Army Corps announces temporary closure of Shy Beaver Boat Launch

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Baltimore District, will temporarily close the Shy Beaver boat launch area beginning Friday, Oct. 9, to install a new public restroom. The boat launch area is scheduled to reopen Friday, Oct. 16.

In addition, Shy Beaver Road will also be closed to the public during the same period to allow for associated construction activities, including delivery of pre-fabricated restroom equipment that is part of the installation of these public restrooms.

The Shy Beaver boat launch area, Shy Beaver Road and the new restroom are all expected to reopen to the public on Friday, Oct. 16.

The public is encouraged to monitor the Shy Beaver Boat Launch website and the Raystown Lake Facebook page for the most up-to-date information.
