Corps to recruit at WOC Career Fair and Hiring Event

WHO:  Representatives for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) will be at the 2020 Women of Color (WOC) Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) Conference Career Fair.

WHAT:  WOC Career Fair and Hiring Event

WHERE:  Virtual

WHEN:  Saturday, 10 October 2019 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (EDT)

WHY:  We will be recruiting post-secondary students, recent graduates and journeyman level using direct hire authority for multiple disciplines and grade levels, from grades GS-03 to GS-15.  Depending on position/location selected for, promotion potential will be the GS-05, 07, 09, 11,12, and 13 level.  We encourage students, graduates, and practicing professionals to stop by to attend Career Fair.

PAY RANGE:  $27,800 to $140,146; pay will be based on such factors as your qualifications, education, experience, training, duty location, and availability of funds.

EVALUATIONS:  Candidates will be evaluated in accordance with the qualification and eligibility requirements set forth by the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) located at https://www.opm.gov/policy-data-oversight/classification-qualifications/general-schedule-qualification-standards/#url=Group-Standards .

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • All positions require the applicant to be a citizen of the United States.  
  • Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, are required to register for Selective Service prior to appointment. 
  • A trial or probationary period may be required. 
  • Some positions may require a valid driver's license. 
  • Some positions may require a security clearance to include fingerprinting.
  • Some position may require temporary duty travel.
  • Some position may require a Defense Acquisition Certification within 2 years of appointment.
  • The following MAY be paid or offered:  travel and relocation expenses, recruitment bonus, and/or student loan repayment.
  • Promotion progression to the target position is contingent upon satisfactory completion of training requirements and continuous satisfactory performance.
