Temporary facility closures at Government Bay, Lake Sakakawea

RIVERDALE, N.D.—The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Omaha District announced Monday the temporary closure of the access road and fish cleaning station at the Government Bay Recreation Area on Lake Sakakawea because of a water line break in Riverdale, North Dakota.

The break impacted the structure of the roadway requiring the road to remain closed until repairs can be completed. Facilities impacted by the closure include the Morning Star Campground and the Government Bay fish cleaning station, parking lots and boat ramp. 

The city of Riverdale is currently conducting repairs to reopen the access road. There is no estimated date for repairs to be completed. A press release will be issued upon reopening.
