VICKSBURG, Miss. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Mississippi Valley Division (MVD) and its six districts, St. Paul; Rock Island; St. Louis; Memphis; Vicksburg; and New Orleans, are implementing protective measures to help keep people safe during this critical time in our nation.

MVD and districts will continue operating with minimal onsite staffing by maximizing telework, but we will ensure that mission essential personnel are immediately available and responsive to our high priority missions.

“My number one priority is the safety and health of our workforce and their families during this time,” said Maj. Gen. Mark Toy, Commanding General of the Mississippi Valley Division. “I appreciate your patience as we work through these difficult times.  We have a critical mission supporting our Nation during times like this, and we must continue to deliver. USACE will continue to do its best to resolve any uncertainties in a manner that permits us to support our federal, state and local partners and communities.”

Maj. Gen. Toy has authorized the Mississippi Valley Division and its districts to begin implementing measures that will help mitigate risks by identifying projects and programs that may be impacted.

“Many USACE core competencies within our jurisdiction such as: Investigations, Construction, Operations and Maintenance, Continuing Authority Program and projects within the MR&T may be impacted,” said Maj. Gen. Toy.  “I have asked each district to outline which projects, programs, or services will impact the American public and to routinely update their public web and social media sites.”
