The Project Delivery Team (PDT) members include only the federal officials and elected officers of state, local or tribal governments or their designated employees with authority to act on their behalf acting in their official capacities.
Members of the public are welcome to attend the government agency PDT meeting and provide comments during the two designated public comment periods. Technical information may be shared with the team at any time via LakeOComments@usace.army.mil.
“The LOSOM PDT and PDT sub-teams continue to work on the technical details required to move this project forward. In addition, we really appreciate the input the Corps has been receiving from a variety of stakeholders,” said Tim Gysan, LOSOM Project Manager. “During the January meeting, the PDT will discuss the results from the second round of LOOPS modeling sensitivity runs and the final set of performance measures. The sub-team leads will also provide updates on their progress.”
“We continue to plan monthly PDT meetings through the selection of the Recommended Plan in April or May of 2021,” said Gysan. “We encourage members of the public and stakeholders to attend the meetings and provide input to the PDT, and appreciate their continued engagement in this process.”
Upcoming monthly LOSOM PDT Meetings are tentatively scheduled for:
Thursday, February 27 (Online Web Meeting) 1:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Thursday, March 26 (Okeechobee, location TBD) 10:00 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Thursday April 23 (Online Web Meeting) 1:00 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Sub-teams are working specifically on Economics, Ecology, Modeling, Plan Formulation, Water Supply and Water Quality.
The purpose of the Lake Okeechobee System Operating Manual (LOSOM) effort is to reevaluate and define operations for the Lake Okeechobee regulation schedule that take into account additional infrastructure that will soon be operational. The additional infrastructure that will be taken into consideration includes the Herbert Hoover Dike rehabilitation, Kissimmee River Restoration Project, as well as the Comprehensive Everglades Restoration Plan (CERP) C-43 West Basin Storage Reservoir and C-44 Reservoir and Stormwater Treatment Area.
