In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Town Hall was held telephonically across the globe with employees in U.S. and in a dozen countries throughout the Middle East.

When presenting the award to Altemose during the virtual event, Beck said she is an integral part of the Division’s Command Implementation Plan.

“By your diligence and hard work, 25 additional hires were on-boarded at TAD HQ.  You expertly navigated and adhered to a labyrinth of Army and Office of Personnel Management regulations, all while meeting critical deadlines,” Beck said. “I am especially grateful for your sound and expert advice to our entire TAD command staff on a wide range of HR-related topics. Well done!”

When receiving her award, Altemose said it was “a great honor” to be selected as the Employee of the Year. “I am privileged to do the work I love,” she said. “It is so important to take care of employees, without whom the mission would not be accomplished. I am so appreciative of the whole TAD team.  I love the challenging work, even in unprecedented times like these.”

The narrative nominating her for the award is a laundry list of accomplishments Altemose executed throughout calendar year 2019 to benefit the men and women across the Division, as well as those assigned to the two districts and one task force that makes up TAD. Of particular note, Altemose helped to re-draft the TAD awards policy to emphasize employee recognition which directly addressed employee feedback received during the annual Federal Employee Viewpoint Survey.

Her efforts to update the TAD Human Capital Planning Committee charter provided the framework for enhancing the Division’s personnel management across all TAD entities. Altemose provided continuous and timely updates to all Division staff on the various Human Resources programs, and her work throughout the Federal Employee Viewpoint Survey provided statistics and an action plan for Senior Leadership to enact changes based on employees’ feedback.

When presenting the award to Altemose, Beck said her extraordinary work ethic, technical competence, excellent customer service, and expertise are widely known and respected by leaders at all levels. “You are the epitome of a true professional,” he said.
