Crystal started her career as a federal employee working at a military grocery store. Through college she participated in the Pathways internship program, ultimately earning a full-time position upon her graduation. With a love of logistics, she has worked her way through the ranks and now serves as a senior civilian program manager, illustrating the opportunities to build a career within the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Aviation Program Office (APO) plays a pivotal role in advancing crewed and uncrewed aviation missions across the organization. Established to meet the growing demands of Civil Works, Emergency Response, and Combatant Command operations, the APO serves as the central aviation authority for USACE, ensuring the safe, legal, and efficient operation of Uncrewed Aircraft Systems (UAS).

Maj. Gen. Jason Kelly, USACE deputy commanding general for civil and emergency operations, highlights USACE STEM professionals and their contributions to the nation as part of this year's Engineers Week celebrations.

Highly detailed terrain data captured by the Army Geospatial Center's BuckEye aerial collection platform yields three-dimensional, color-graded imagery and other volumetric information, which will help inform U.S. Army Corps of Engineers' plans to remove debris from multiple schools and an anticipated 10,000-plus residential properties, following the devastating Jan. 2025 wildfires in Los Angeles County. As recovery moves forward, USACE continues deploying a wide array of cutting-edge capabilities to support this FEMA-assigned mission – expected to become the most massive debris cleanup in the Corps’ nearly 250-year history.

USACE Highlights the work its personnel has done over the past 250 years. From it's inception on the battlefields of the Revolutionary War to today, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has always answered the call of the nation, to engineer solutions to the nation's toughest challenges.

Together with FEMA and other federal, state and local partners, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is on the ground in Los Angeles helping impacted communities recover as quickly as possible from last month’s devastating wildfires. “I intend to go fast … in the name of helping LA rebuild,” said Maj. Gen. Jason Kelly, USACE Deputy Commanding General of Civil and Emergency Operations, while speaking to deployed personnel supporting the response. “We have come together from all different places, and we are part of something special.”

This past fall the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers welcomed Major General Jason E. Kelly as the Deputy Commanding General for Civil Works and Emergency Operations. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) is highlighting it 250 years of service to the nation by celebrating its birthday throughout 2025. USACE was established on June 16, 1775, when the Continental Congress authorized the first Chief Engineer to oversee the construction of fortifications and other military infrastructure.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers recognized excellence in contracting and small business partnerships during an awards ceremony on Nov. 20 at the Ernest N. Morial Convention center in New Orleans, Louisiana.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) recognized the accomplishments of many of its outstanding Civilians and Soldiers during a Nov. 13 awards ceremony held at USACE Headquarters in Washington D.C.

As responders continue to help North Carolina communities devastated by Hurricane Helene, a team from the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC), headquartered in Vicksburg, Mississippi, is providing high-quality aerial imagery to guide recovery efforts.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Institute for Water Resources, Hydrologic Engineering Center (HEC) has been developing software for decades, and during that time, the technologies to develop, deliver, and support the software have profoundly changed. Although HEC tools are considered industry-standard, HEC recognizes the need to improve the quality of code, development process, user and developer experience, and support for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ mission and the greater hydrologic profession.

More than 150 U.S. Army Corps of Engineers professionals experienced innovative technology as the Construction Management Community of Practice unveiled their new lab at a workshop, held at the Kansas City District in early April.
