The mission of the CISM program is to provide education, support, and assistance to USACE employees for incidental or cumulative critical incident stress experienced in the performance of their jobs and/or in the event of major civil emergencies, natural disasters or military contingencies.

Dereck Redwine, a physical scientist assigned to the Vicksburg District Geotechnical Branch, demonstrates how to read a piezometer for PROSPECT Course #028, Dam Safety, on March 20, 2024, in Grenada, Mississippi. Piezometers are geotechnical sensors used to measure pore water pressure (piezometric level) in the ground, which helps determine the flow pattern of water in earth/rock fill, concrete dams, and their foundations. ALEXANDRIA, Va. (June 10, 2024) – The Institute for Water Resources (IWR), part of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), has released a report through its Water Resources Center on improving the use of structured decision-making for water resource management. Titled "Analysis of Tradeoffs Approaches Applicable to USACE Civil Works Planning," the report outlines methods for comparing the benefits and effects of various planning alternatives to support selecting alternative plans in managing the nation’s water resources.

U.S. Army Sgt. 1st Class Christopher A. Celiz was posthumously presented the Gold Order of the de Fleury Medal, the highest honor in the U.S. Army Engineer Regiment, during a ceremony today in Savannah, Georgia. Celiz, a Medal of Honor recipient and native of Summerville, South Carolina, was selected for the Gold de Fleury in recognition of service and sacrifice as a U.S. Army combat engineer and noncommissioned officer.
