Louisiana Gov. John Bel Edwards and USACE Mississippi Valley Division Commander Maj. Gen. Diana Holland listen to a Hurricane Ida update briefing by New Orleans District Deputy District Engineer Mark Wingate Sunday morning at the Governor’s Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness office in Baton Rouge. Also present at the meeting were MVN Senior Project Manager Jeff Varisco and Louisiana National Guard Adjutant General Maj. Gen. Keith Waddell. The USACE is prepared and ready to respond to natural disasters. When disasters occur, USACE teams and other resources are mobilized from across the country to assist our local districts and offices to deliver our response missions.
