DUCK, N.C. — After a day of gathering coastal survey information, it was time to wash the Army Corps of Engineers Lighter, Amphibious, Resupply, Cargo vessel and head back to the office, then home for the evening. At least that was Mark Preisser's thought before a rip current changed the plan.
