The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) explains the Trinity River Project to visiting DISD students. USACE was one of EDD 2011's hands-on exhibitors. Thousands of Dallas Independent School District students visited the USACE booth and learned about the Trinity River Project and its impact on the local ecosystem. USACE has approximately 34,000 dedicated civilians and soldiers delivering engineering services to customers in more than 90 countries worldwide. USACE men and women protect and restore the Nation's environment including efforts in the Everglades, the Louisiana coast, and in many of the country's waterways. USACE also cleans sites with contaminated with hazardous, toxic and radioactive waste and material in hopes of sustaining the environment.
