The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Contingency Response Unit, 416^th Theater Engineer Command is a team of dedicated professional officers and NCOs who provide global rapid response capability to the Engineer Regiment, USACE, and Combatant Commands in the form of operational and engineering command and control support – primarily for disaster relief missions and Overseas Contingency Operations. 

The team of highly specialized and trained Soldiers work to fortify the nation’s security by strengthening our engineering capabilities in a high OPTEMPO environment.  The unit's pledge to the nation and their customers is to continue to be worthy of their trust and selection, as well as to provide support wherever and whenever it can. 

The Contingency Response Unit strives to provide a safe and encouraging environment to best enable mission success and to help Soldiers achieve their military professional and personal goals.

The activation of the Contingency Response Unit provides USACE with a Reserve Element to perform theater analysis for USACE Divisional areas of operation and be prepared to support the USACE Division Commander in a Theater of Operations during wartime or contingencies with primary staff capabilities in:

• Management
• Coordination 
• Operational Planning
• Synchronization

CRU Mission: The Contingency Response Unit (CRU) provides trained, ready, and relevant teams to support the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers when engaged in military contingency and disaster or crisis response operations.
