  • USACE Galveston District and Cedar Bayou Navigation District sign partnership agreement

    GALVESTON, Texas (September 24, 2019) The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Galveston District and the Cedar Bayou Navigation District (CBND) are set to begin construction of the Cedar Bayou Channel Improvement Project. Construction of the project is expected to begin February 2020. A Project Partnership Agreement was formally signed by USACE Galveston District and CBND Sept. 23, which initiates the Channel Improvement Project.
  • Increased fall releases from Rathbun Lake cancelled

    In response to concerns over ongoing levee assessments and repairs along the lower Chariton River and the Missouri River, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Kansas City District will not conduct the previously announced increased releases from Rathbun Lake.
  • District Commander participates in launch of new shipboard water quality monitoring system

    Memphis District Commander Col. Zachary Miller joined officials from the U.S. Geological Survey and a group of Mississippi River city mayors at a press conference Monday (Sept. 16) to announce the launch of a new shipboard water quality monitoring system. The steam ship American Queen, where the press conference took place, is the first commercial vessel to mount the system.
  • Baldhill Dam discharges to fluctuate this week

    ST. PAUL, Minn. – Citizens will see fluctuating flows along the Sheyenne River this week. Lakeshore users around Lake Ashtabula may need to take action to secure property located on the shoreline, as it may be impacted.
  • Fall public meetings on Missouri River operations set for Oct. 22-25

    Seven public meetings will be conducted throughout the basin Oct. 22-25. The purpose of these meetings is to update the region on current hydrologic conditions and review operation of the mainstem reservoir system. Presenters include staff from the National Weather Service and the USACE Missouri River Water Management Division.

  • Corps kicks off Augusta Training Wall Disposition Study

    AUGUSTA, Ga. – Geologists from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Savannah District began collecting soil samples from the bottom of the Savannah River recently as part of a disposition study to determine the cost and benefit of removing an old underwater training wall in the Savannah River.

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Sept. 24, 2019) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District announces that Fishing Creek Campground and boat launching ramp at Lake Cumberland in Somerset, Ky., are closing Monday, Sept. 30, 2019 for road repairs and repaving.
