Work hours extended for Folsom Lake Crossing lane closure

The partial closure of one westbound lane of Folsom Lake Crossing in Folsom, Calif., will increase by two hours starting April 22, 2013, from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily during weekdays.

Corps, Indiana Earth Day message to northwest Indiana landowners: Call before you fill!

The Corps and the Indiana Department of Environmental Management are partnering to remind private, public and commercial land owners that permits are required if wetlands and/or streams may be impacted during a project. Protecting streams, lakes and wetlands is critical due to their role in preventing flooding, improving water quality, and providing habitat for fish and wildlife, as well as the extensive recreational value they provide to the public.

NR 13-012: Wolf Creek Dam Ceremony location changed and security measures increased

NASHVILLE, TENN. (April 18, 2013) – The Nashville District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is changing the location for the Wolf Creek Dam Completion Ceremony on Friday, April 19 due to forecasted severe weather early Friday morning that will preclude setup. The District is also increasing security measures for the ceremony.

Army to host public scoping meeting for MOTCO pier modernization

The U.S. Army Surface Deployment and Distribution Command, in collaboration with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, will host a public scoping meeting April 24 in Concord to seek input for a draft environmental impact statement for the proposed modernization and repair of two piers at Military Ocean Terminal Concord.

Corps releases inspection ratings for Merced, Madera county levees

Inspections by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District rated maintenance of 10 levee systems in rural Merced and Madera counties in California unacceptable, and gave a minimally acceptable maintenance rating to one additional Merced County levee system.
