  • One lane of Highway 187 across Beaver Dam to temporarily close

    ROGERS, Ark. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will temporarily close one lane of the Highway 187 Bridge across Beaver Dam from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. July 8, 9 and 10 to perform a routine inspection of the structure.
  • Comments sought for development of the Mid-Breton Sediment Diversion Environmental Impact Statement

    CPRA has applied to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for permits and permission to construct, maintain and operate the Mid-Breton Sediment Diversion project on the east bank of the Mississippi River near Willis Point in Plaquemines Parish. In compliance with NEPA, the Corps will prepare an EIS to inform its permitting decisions. As part of this process, the Corps is seeking public comment to assist in determining the scope of issues, resources, impacts and alternatives to be addressed in the document. Comments will be collected until August 16, 2020.

    SAVANNAH, Ga. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Savannah District ended the second interim of the Savannah River Basin Comprehensive Study due to inadequate analysis, a lack of full partnership concurrence on the recommendation and insufficient funding.
  • Vicksburg District reminds recreation site visitors to take precautions for a safe Fourth of July weekend

    VICKSBURG, Miss. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Vicksburg District reminds recreation site visitors across Mississippi, Arkansas and Louisiana to practice safety throughout the Fourth of July weekend. Recreation sites across the region will host special events during the holiday weekend. In Arkansas, fireworks shows will be held at Lake Ouachita July 3 and 4 and Lake Greeson July 3. In Mississippi, a fireworks show will be held at Sardis Lake July 4.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Pittsburgh District is hosting a virtual public meeting to kick off the Youghiogheny River Lake Master Plan revision. The corps is seeking public input about environmental and recreational subjects to consider during the master plan revision process.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Jacksonville District, announces public comment on the Final Environmental Impact Statement (FEIS) for the Combined Operational Plan (COP). Public comments are due August 3.
  • Vicksburg District to reopen select beaches and recreation areas at Mississippi lakes beginning July 6

    Vicksburg, Miss. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Vicksburg District will reopen select beaches and recreation areas at its Mississippi lakes – Arkabutla Lake, Sardis Lake, Enid Lake and Grenada Lake – and incorporate preventative health measures beginning July 6.
