The team received a U.S. Patent this year for their innovative process “DNA-Based Testing for Environmental Contamination.”

    VICKSBURG, Miss. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Vicksburg District will host its inaugural Meet the District Virtual Open House Oct. 8 from 10 a.m. to noon. The event will provide large and small business representatives; university, community college and vocational school administrators; political and community leaders; and members of the public with the opportunity to learn about the district’s mission as well as its career and business opportunities
  • Temporary Road and Park Closures at Lake Sidney Lanier

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Mobile District Project Management Office at Lake Sidney Lanier advises the public that Buford Dam Road will be temporarily closed for roadway maintenance at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, September 16, 2020.   • Army Corps updates road closure status at Francis E. Walter Dam

    The U.S. Army Corps Engineers’ Philadelphia District announced the Route 940 entrance to the Francis E. Walter Dam will reopen on Sept. 18, 2020. The Bear Creek White Haven Road entrance to the dam will then close to traffic as road repairs shift to that area. Road repairs and paving work has been ongoing since June 2020 and is being conducted in phases.

    HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - The Huntington District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has determined that conditions exist in the outlet works area at Piedmont Lake in Piedmont, Ohio, that could result in the presence and possible release of hydrogen sulfide (H2S) gases.

    LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Little Rock District lifts the small craft advisory for the Arkansas River. Small-craft advisories are issued when flows reach 70,000 cubic feet per second. While flows have receded, Corps officials urge boaters to always use caution when on the river.
