  • USACE- Buffalo District completes Buffalo S. breakwater repairs

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Buffalo District completed the Buffalo South breakwater construction on August 12, 2020 to repair 625 feet out of the 1,000 foot degraded section. 
  • Wallisville Lake Project now accepting applications for the 2020 – 2021 feral hog removal season

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Galveston District’s Wallisville Lake Project Office staff is now accepting applications for feral hog removal using trained dogs and trapping. The project will offer 30 permits to individuals using trained dogs through a random drawing. Applications from dog hunters will be accepted during the month of September. A limited number of trapping permits will also be available throughout the year to those interested in trapping feral hogs on project lands.

  • Blue Roof Program sign-up station opening in Lake Charles

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has opened a Blue Roof Sign-Up Center in Lake Charles, Louisiana, at the Lake Charles Civic Center, N Lakeshore Dr, Lake Charles, LA 70601, open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. The deadline to sign up is Sept. 21, 2020. The program is currently active in Allen, Beauregard, Calcasieu, Cameron, Jefferson Davis, and Vernon parishes and is free to homeowners.
  • USACE announces faster drawdown of Lake Washington lake levels

    Seattle District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ officials have announced Lake Washington elevation reductions in preparation for the Suquamish Tribal fishing season and Corps Emergency Scour Repair project that begins September 13 and 15, respectively. The drawdown has begun and the projected lake level should reach 20.25 ft. by September 12.
  • August inflows much below average in northern Missouri River Basin

    August precipitation was well-below normal in the Missouri River Basin, particularly in the western and far northern portions, which received less than 25% of normal precipitation. The lack of precipitation and dry soil conditions resulted in 74% of average August runoff in the Missouri River Basin above Sioux City, Iowa (upper Basin). The 2020 calendar year forecast for the upper Basin, updated on September 1, is 30.6 million acre-feet (MAF), 119% of average. Average annual runoff for the upper Basin is 25.8 MAF. Runoff in the upper Basin during the remainder of 2020 is forecast to be below average.
  • Corps of Engineers Annual Day Use and America the Beautiful Annual Pass Extension

    HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - The US Army Corps of Engineers will be extending the expiration date of the USACE Annual Day Use and America the Beautiful passes for seven months from the original expiration date for the passes issued between April 1, 2019 to March 31, 2020. The extension is only being accepted at the US Army Corps of Engineers managed facilities
