    Nashville District provides update for 2020 recreation season

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (March 19, 2020) – In the interest of public safety, and in accordance with Center for Disease Control recommendations, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District is taking the following precautionary measures to assist public health efforts  to contain the spread of COVID-19.

    Far East District continues to provide engineering solutions during COVID-19

    CAMP HUMPHREYS, South Korea—South Korea was one of the first countries affected by COVID-19. Although the novel virus has drastically altered operations within the Republic of Korea, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Far East District (FED) has continued to diligently find ways to provide engineering solutions in support of United States Forces Korea (USFK).
  • With wide open, breezy stretches for sailing and quiet secluded coves for skiing and swimming, the clear uncrowded waters of Norfork Lake are ideal for water sports.

    Lock and dam tow rail systems get upgrades

    The St. Paul District is investing more than $18 million in the tow rail system, vital pieces of equipment which assists tows locking through lock and dams when traveling upriver.

The Jan. 7 Los Angeles County wildfires debris removal operation was one of our largest, most challenging missions. More than 1,400 USACE personnel deployed from across the nation and from our district to support debris removal operations. /6

  • Glenn Cunningham Reservoir to begin to fill naturally

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will shut the outflow gate at Glenn Cunningham Reservoir on June 1, to allow the lake to begin to refill naturally. It is anticipated that with typical weather conditions the lake will reach full conservation pool by early spring 2021.

  • Corps campgrounds to reopen June 1 along the Mississippi River

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Rock Island District announces campgrounds managed by the Mississippi River Project will reopen June 1 with the exception of Grant River in Potosi, Wisconsin. Online reservations through www.recreation.gov are required for all sites and same day reservations are now permitted.
