Corps opens contract solicitation for Tangier jetty
The Norfolk District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers issued a solicitation for an unrestricted, firm fixed price, invitation for bid (IFB) for construction of a jetty located on the small island in the middle of the Chesapeake Bay.

The Jan. 7 Los Angeles County wildfires debris removal operation was one of our largest, most challenging missions. More than 1,400 USACE personnel deployed from across the nation and from our district to support debris removal operations. /6

But we did not do this alone. The success of this important mission was the result of strong partnerships with FEMA, Cal OES, LA County, local governments and impacted communities. /5

To date, USACE has removed more than 2.6 million tons of debris — the equivalent of more than 218,000 truckloads. /4

We are proud of our efforts, alongside our partners, to rapidly come to the aid of our fellow citizens in their time of need. In just six months, more than 9,500 properties were cleared — making this the fastest, large-scale wildfire debris removal in USACE history. /3

After the devastating Los Angeles wildfires in January 2025, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers was laser-focused on removing immediate hazards to public health and safety, and supporting economic recovery by removing structural ash, debris and foundations. /2

Corps releases interactive inundation map
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. –The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Little Rock District is releasing an interactive inundation map for planning purposes that displays areas along the White River that may experience high water from this week’s forecasted rainfall.

El Cuerpo de Ingenieros otorga fondos para el dragado de mantenimiento del Puerto de Mayagüez en Puerto Rico
El Distrito de Jacksonville del Cuerpo de Ingenieros del Ejército de EE. UU. (USACE por sus siglas en ingles), otorgó $1.63 millones adicionales, el 21 de mayo, a un contrato emitido previamente a Weeks Marine, Inc., para el dragado de mantenimiento del Puerto de Arecibo. Estos fondos aumentan el monto total del contrato adjudicado en enero pasado a $6.3 millones y ahora incluye el dragado de mantenimiento del puerto de Mayagüez en Mayagüez, Puerto Rico.

Army Corps of Engineers begins gradual reopening of recreation areas closed due to Coronavirus
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers announced today that it has begun the gradual reopening of some USACE-managed recreation areas that were closed to protect against the further spread of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). The health and safety of USACE personnel, contractors, volunteers and the visiting public remain our highest priority. Reopening of closed recreation areas will vary from location to location based on state and local conditions, as well as each project’s ability to put in place COVID-19 safety precautions.

Corps of Engineers reopens lock facilities to the public
ST. PAUL, Minn. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, is removing the closures to its facilities near the Mississippi River locks and dams from Lock and Dam 2, near Hastings, Minnesota, to Lock and Dam 10 in Guttenberg, Iowa. The change is effective immediately.
