    U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Jacksonville District, announces that construction will begin soon for the Broward County Segment II shore protection renourishment project.
  • Corps to mobilize mid-April for Fort Pierce beach renourishment

    U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Jacksonville District, will mobilize in mid-April to conduct a beach replenishment project at Fort Pierce, Florida. The shore protection project will entail sand replenishment of approximately 1.3 miles of beach immediately south of the Fort Pierce Inlet. It is the continuation of a federal project initially constructed in 1971 with an additional 14 periodic and emergency re-nourishments carried out since 1999.
  • Corps awards contract for Sunny Isles Beach renourishment

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Jacksonville District awarded a contract on Jan 26 to Eastman Aggregate Enterprises, LLC of Lake Worth, Florida, for $14,040,069.05, for the Sunny Isles Beach shoreline renourishment project, part of the Miami-Dade County Beach Erosion Control and Hurricane Protection Project.

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Sept. 11, 2020) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District announces that the Right Bank Recreation Area Beach at Cheatham Lake in Ashland City, Tennessee, is reopened as water conditions have returned to acceptable levels.
  • NR 20-023: Cheatham Lake Right Bank Recreation Area closed

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Sept. 9, 2020) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District announces the immediate closure of the Right Bank Recreation Area Beach at Cheatham Lake in Ashland City, Tennessee, due to elevated levels of Escherichia coli (E. Coli.). The area is still open for picnicking and boat launching.

  • Corps awards beach restoration contract for St. Johns County Coastal Storm Risk Management Project

    The Jacksonville District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers awarded a $15,179,050 contract July 7, 2020, to Great Lakes Dredge & Dock Company, LLC, of Oak Brook, Ill., to restore critically eroded shoreline along the coast of St. Johns County, Florida. The Coastal Storm Risk Management Project will include both dune and beach berm construction along approximately 2.6 miles of the St. Johns County coastline from Vilano Beach to South Ponte Vedra Beach. The initial construction will include placement of approximately 1.3 million cubic yards of sand that will be dredged from shoals located within St. Augustine Inlet. Future periodic nourishment events are planned at multi-year intervals.
  • Saylorville Lake Opens Oak Grove Beach

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Rock Island District has opened Oak Grove Beach as a designated beach. The beach is open 6am to 9pm daily and day-use fees will not be collected.
