    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Feb. 26, 2019) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District announces that Cheatham Lock in Ashland City, Tenn., will likely remain closed to navigation for at least 30 days due to high water levels at the project.

    SOMERSET, Ky. (Feb. 13, 2019) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District is temporarily closing Lake Cumberland’s Waitsboro Recreation Area for public safety.
  • Lewis and Clark Visitor Center closes for the season on November 16

    The Lewis and Clark Visitor Center near Yankton, SD will close for the winter season effective Friday, November 16 at 4:00 P.M. The center will reopen in February 2019.
  • NR 18-029: Shutes Branch Mountain Bike Trail partially closed for repairs

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Oct. 30, 2018) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District announces Shutes Branch Mountain Bike Trail at Old Hickory Lake in Old Hickory, Tenn., is partially closing Oct. 30, 2018 while crews install a septic system for the National Weather Office located in the area. The work is expected to be completed by early January 2019.
  • Army Corps, Park Service to host public meeting on flood risk, District of Columbia Levee System

    Officials say though probability is low, if the District of Columbia Levee System is overtopped with flood water and breaks, it could result in loss of life, billions of dollars in damages and major disruption to the national government. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and National Park Service are hosting a public meeting Oct. 30 at 6:30 p.m. at the Westminster Presbyterian Church (400 I Street SW) to share information on flood risks, preparedness measures and evacuation procedures to people who live, work or spend any time behind the levee system near the National Mall.
  • Recreation Closures Continue at Coralville Lake

    IOWA CITY, Iowa - All public day use boat ramps managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers on Coralville Lake remain closed at this time. This includes the Curtis Bridge, Mehaffey Bridge, Sandy Beach, Sugar Bottom, and West Overlook boat ramps. Lake MacBride Boat Ramp which is managed by the Iowa Department of Natural Resources also remains closed. West Overlook Recreation Area campsites 61-89 and Sugar Bottom Recreation Area campsites 156-181 and 192-214 as well as the campground boat ramp at Sugar Bottom also remain closed.
  • Road across Gavins Point Dam closed September 10, 11

    Crest Road, the road on Gavins Point Dam near Yankton, South Dakota, will be closed from 7:30 a.m. through 4:30 p.m. Monday, September 10 and Tuesday, September 11 to perform inspections on the spillway bridge. The public is asked to plan on an alternate route of travel during this time.

    POMEROY, Wash. – Willow Landing, located about 18 miles east of Little Goose Lock and Dam on the south shoreline of the lower Snake River near Pomeroy, Washington, will be temporarily closed Monday, Sep. 10 until Friday, Sep. 14, to accommodate asphalt maintenance work, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers officials announced today.
