    Army Corps hosts public meeting to discuss Keithsburg Reach Dredge Material Placement Site Expansion

    ROCK ISLAND, Ill. - (Oct. 13, 2011) The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and its partners at the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and Iowa Department of Natural Resources, invite the public to attend a meeting to discuss the Keithsburg Reach Upper Dredge Cut material placement Site 4, Pool 18, Oct. 26 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Oakville Community Center, 105 East Ash, Oakville, Iowa.

    280-foot section of Chicago Sanitary and Ship Canal wall collapses

    LOCKPORT, Ill. - On Friday, Oct. 7, approximately 280 linear feet of Chicago Sanitary and Ship Canal concrete wall slid into the Canal. The wall is located just upstream of the Lockport Lock on the left descending bank. No breach of the Canal earth embankment behind the concrete wall occurred and no personnel were injured or equipment damaged.

    Corps, County Announce Santa Clara River Levee Public Meeting

    LOS ANGELES – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Los Angeles District and Ventura County Watershed Protection District will host a public meeting Oct. 12 from 6:30-8:00 p.m. at the Rio Vista School, 3050 Thames River Drive, Oxnard, CA 93036, to inform residents about the ongoing work to inspect and repair the Santa Clara River Levee System 1, a 4.72-mile stretch along the southeast bank of the river, from Highway 101 to Saticoy, in the City of Oxnard, Ventura County, Calif.
