    U.S Army Corps of Engineers Kansas City District announced today a potentially toxic blue-green algae bloom at the outlet campground river pond downstream of Melvern Lake. Blue-green algae identification tests and toxin tests performed July 31 by USACE staff identified cyanobacteria or blue-green algae present including low levels of the toxin microcystin.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Tuttle Creek Lake invites the public to attend The Kansas Summer Sky Program at 9:15 p.m. Aug. 15th at 9:30 p.m. at the east end of the dam. Attendees will meet at the east dam parking lot and rangers will give directions to the top of the hill where the program will be held.
