  • Corps of Engineers modifying operations at recreation areas due to COVID-19

    ST. PAUL, Minn. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District has closed all visitor centers, beaches and project offices to the public to protect against the further spread of COVID-19.
  • USACE Philadelphia District supporting response to COVID-19 public health emergency

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Philadelphia District is providing initial planning and engineering support for the States of New Jersey and Delaware to address possible medical facility shortages due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. The mission, in support of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the two states, is part of a nationwide federal, state and local effort to respond to the public health emergency.

    HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The recreation area at the Greenup Locks and Dam in Greenup, Ky., has been closed to the public because of construction on the access road to the parking lot.

    As the nation continues to confront the challenges of COVID-19, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Pittsburgh District has closed our offices in the William S. Moorhead Federal Building in downtown Pittsburgh until further notice.

    RAYSTOWN LAKE, Pa. —The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Baltimore District, has closed or delayed the opening of Corps-owned and managed recreation sites indefinitely, effective immediately, due to the concern for public health and safety of its employees and the visiting public during the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • Justification and Approval Threshold for 8(a) Contracts changes

    The Office of the Under Secretary of Defense-Acquisitions and Sustainment released a memo today regarding class justifications for procurements. Effective immediately, for procurements valued at $100 million or less, contracting officers are not required to execute a justification and obtain approval for award of a sole source contract under the Small Business Administration’s 8(a) program.

    ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.  – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers-Albuquerque District has announced changes to lake operations in New Mexico and Colorado amid health concerns related to the COVID-19 pandemic. Effective today, USACE-Albuquerque District is taking measures throughout its lake offices to reduce risk to guests, volunteers and personnel.
  • Army Corps of Engineers modifying operations at recreation areas due to Coronavirus

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) announced today that it has begun the orderly shutdown of all USACE-managed campgrounds to protect against the further spread of coronavirus disease 2019. Visitor centers, beaches, special events, and USACE-sponsored events such as shore sweeps, interpretive programs, Kids to Parks Day, Earth Day events, public meetings and other public gatherings at all USACE-managed sites and facilities have also been closed and/or put on hold until further notice.
