    In the Valley: Female Leader Perspectives

    U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Mississippi Valley Division (MVD) Commanding General Maj. Gen. Diana Holland hosted a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Virtual Forum on April 29, 2021. The topic for the forum was ‘In the Valley: Female Leader Perspectives’, and panelists included the top female Deputy District Engineers for Programs Project Management (DPM) throughout the region; Kim Thomas, Rock Island District DPPM, Susan Wilson, St. Louis District DPPM, and Pat Hemphill, Vicksburg District DPPM.

    (April 30, 2021) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Chicago District hosted a number of events in April 2021 to recognize Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month (SAAPM). This year’s Army theme was "Building Cohesive Teams through Character Trust and Resilience. Protecting Our People Protects Our Mission."

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Chicago District has released for public comment the Draft Integrated Detailed Project Report and Environmental Assessment for the Dutch Gap ecosystem restoration project located in Antioch, Lake County, Illinois.

    Omaha, Neb. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Omaha District announces a draft environmental assessment for capital improvements in the city of Napoleon, N.D. is available for public review through May 28, 2021.
  • Huntsville Center, USACE Aviation supports Army Geospatial Research Laboratory for Redstone Arsenal Unmanned Aircraft Systems flights

    Data collected from the UAS flights is used by Soldiers within the IVAS environment to gain a greater understanding and knowledge of the terrain before executing a mission and without having to physically move into an area.
  • Bulltown Historical Association

    The BHA was founded in 2019 by a group of civil war reenactors, their families and friends, with a common goal to educate the public and promote the history of the area. In 2020, in the peak of the Corona Virus National Pandemic, they were able to join with the Burnsville Lake, US Army Corps of Engineers to form a Cooperative Association. This type of an association grants the BHA organization special privileges that allow them to operate on U.S. Army Corps of Engineer property. The BHA works hand in hand with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to preserve and enhance the Bulltown Historical Area in the community of Napier, WV, which is commonly known as Bulltown.
