    Cherokee Nation Operational Solutions is an 8(a) Native American contractor and the award provides DHA with industry best practices addressing the Defense Health Agency Regional Health Facilities' Facility Communication Distribution Systems and help desk support.
  • Tuttle Creek Lake prepares for winter: Outflow increases, lake drops

    MANHATTAN, Kan. – Beginning Dec. 23, 2020 the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Tuttle Creek Lake will increase outflows to drop lake levels in order to facilitate ongoing construction projects. This seasonal adjustment minimizes ice damage, provides additional storage capacity for spring rains and favorable habitat for fish spawning in the spring. Operations to lower the lake water level will not delay ongoing construction activities at the stilling basin (locally known as the “tubes”) nor cause excessive flow for ongoing construction downstream in the Kansas River.
  • Cochiti Lake to reopen January 4, 2021

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Albuquerque District announced Dec. 21, 2020, that Cochiti Lake is scheduled to reopen for day use beginning Jan. 4, 2021.
  • U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to resume Rochester Harbor east pier repairs Spring 2021

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Buffalo District, and its contractor, Dean Marine & Excavating, Inc., are scheduled to resume repairs of the Rochester Harbor east pier, located in Rochester, New York, in Spring 2021. The remaining repairs, the concrete cap and pier lighting, are expected to be completed within a month of resuming construction.
  • Corps of Engineers Hartwell Lake Office accepts Christmas trees for recycling

    SAVANNAH, Ga. – The U. S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Hartwell Lake Office will accept natural Christmas trees (no artificial trees) for recycling Dec. 26, 2020 through Jan. 26, 2021.
  • Channel Islands Harbor dredging to break for holidays, resume Jan. 4

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Los Angeles District, in coordination with the County of Ventura, is performing maintenance dredging near the entrance of Channel Islands Harbor. Manson Construction of Seattle, the Corps' contractor, is completing the work.
  • Corps' Jacksonville District prepares for State 404 Assumption

    JACKSONVILLE, Fla.- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Jacksonville District announced the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA,) has approved the State of Florida’s request to assume administration of a portion of the Clean Water Act (CWA) Section 404 program.
  • Comments sought on watercraft inspection program

    A draft integrated letter report and programmatic environmental assessment has been developed to determine the economic and environmental impacts of Federal participation in state-managed watercraft inspection programs along the South Platte River Basin in Colorado, Wyoming and Nebraska. Public comments on the draft EA will be accepted until Jan. 1, 2021.
  • U.S. Naval Station Kings Bay Entrance Channel dredging, Fernandina Beach re-nourishment under way

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Jacksonville District has begun scheduled maintenance dredging of the U.S. Naval Station Kings Bay entrance channel. The district awarded a $15.8 million contract Nov. 23, 2020, to Great Lakes Dredge and Dock Company, LLC, of Oakbrook Terrace, Ill., for the project. The Corps issued the firm a notice to proceed Dec. 9. The City of Fernandina Beach in the non-federal sponsor of the project.
  • Laughlin Air Force Base Airfield Drainage System Repair Project begins

    U.S. Army Corps of Engineers officials along with several Congressional, Military, state and local partners, recently participated in a groundbreaking ceremony for the Laughlin Air Force Base Airfield Drainage System Repair Project.
