    USACE awards contract to Virginia company to construct jetty at Tangier

    The Norfolk District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, awarded a contract for more than $2.9 million to Gloucester-based Coastal Design & Construction Inc. to construct an approximately 685-foot-long stone jetty at the entrance of the Tangier Island Federal Navigation Channel, located on the western side of the island.

    Corps opens contract solicitation for Tangier jetty

    The Norfolk District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers issued a solicitation for an unrestricted, firm fixed price, invitation for bid (IFB) for construction of a jetty located on the small island in the middle of the Chesapeake Bay.
