  • USACE Galveston District releases Buffalo Bayou Tributaries Resiliency Study Interim Report

    GALVESTON, Texas – Today the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Galveston District is releasing an Interim Report for the Buffalo Bayou and Tributaries Resiliency Study (BBTRS). The purpose of BBTRS is to identify, evaluate and recommend actions to address conditions that have changed flood risks around the Addicks and Barker reservoirs since their construction in the 1940s.
  • Federal agencies release final Columbia River System Operations environmental impact statement

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Bureau of Reclamation and Bonneville Power Administration today released the Columbia River System Operations Final Environmental Impact Statement. The issuance of the final EIS is a substantial step toward accomplishment of a priority item of the Presidential Memorandum on Promoting the Reliable Supply and Delivery of Water in the West issued in October 2018.
  • Vicksburg District to prepare supplemental environmental impact statement for Yazoo Backwater Pumps Project

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Vicksburg District announced April 16 that it will prepare a supplemental environmental impact statement (SEIS) for the Yazoo Area Pump Project in the Yazoo Backwater Area in Mississippi. The public is invited to read the notice of intent for the SEIS, which is published in the Federal Register at the following link: https://www.federalregister.gov/documents/2020/04/16/2020-07966/notice-of-intent-to-prepare-supplemental-environmental-impact-statement-for-the-yazoo-area-pump and to provide comments in accordance with guidance in the notice.

    Portland, Oregon - Evolving health and safety policies from our regional partners designed to hinder the spread of COVID-19 in Washington and Oregon have prompted federal officials to replace all scheduled in-person public comment meetings with phone-in meetings for the recently released Columbia River System Operation draft Environmental Impact Statement.
