    FORT WORTH, Texas – U.S. Army Corps of Engineers representatives at Waco Lake announce the temporary closure of Midway Park for road repairs and paving. The closure will begin October 1, 2017 and the park will re-open once the work is completed. Repairs are expected to take up to ninety days.

  • U.S. Army Corps of Engineers announce closure of fishing pier at Navarro Mills Lake

    FORT WORTH, Texas – U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Vicksburg District will begin staging material and equipment behind the dam at Navarro Mills Lake to repair the discharge channel slope and fishing pier approximately July 24. Access to the fishing pier will be temporarily closed while the material and equipment is being delivered. Work on the discharge channel slope will begin on the west side of the discharge channel, therefore the fishing area, which is located on the east side of the discharge channel, will re-open after the material and equipment is delivered.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will begin erosion repairs below Dexter Dam, southeast of Eugene, July 10. The repairs may disrupt access to the south shore fishing area until July 20.

  • Bridge maintenance impacts boaters on Okeechobee Waterway

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Jacksonville District is alerting boaters of a route closure that will impact travel along the southern part of Lake Okeechobee. The Corps learned today that crews from Palm Beach County will conduct emergency maintenance on the Torrey Island Bridge which crosses Okeechobee Waterway Route 2 near Belle Glade. While the repairs are underway, crews will suspend operations of the swinging bridge, effectively closing the route to most vessels.
