  • Public comment on eligibility criteria for projects in Rehabilitation and Inspection Program

    The Corps is continuing in the process of revising its policies relating to eligibility criteria for levee and coastal projects within its P.L. 84-99 RIP, and we are requesting stakeholder input. The Corps has published an Advance Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (ANPR) in the Federal Register, entitled "Emergency Employment of Army and Other Resources, Natural Disaster Procedures," to help obtain public input on the policy concepts being considered. Comments must be received on or before April 14, 2015.

  • Army Corps invites comment on Delaware shellfish aquaculture program

    PHILADELPHIA (January 22, 2015) – The U.S. Army Corps Engineers’ Philadelphia District today posted a proposal that would govern aquaculture in the Delaware Inland Bays and invited the public to comment. The proposal would govern regulation of shellfish aquaculture in a region that includes Rehoboth Bay, Indian River Bay, Little Assawoman Bay and Delaware’s portion of the Big Assawoman Bay.

  • Corps, EPA extend public comment period on proposed rule defining scope of waters protected by Clean Water Act

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency published on April 21, 2014 for public comment a proposed rule defining the scope of waters protected under the Clean Water Act (CWA) in light of the U.S. Supreme Court cases in U.S. v. Riverside Bayview, Solid Waste Agency of Northern Cook County v. U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (SWANCC), and Rapanos v. United States (Rapanos).

  • Corps seeks comments on regional general permit

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is asking the public to comment on a proposal to reissue a regional general permit authorizing the U.S. Forest Service and U.S. Bureau of Land Management to conduct aquatic habitat restoration activities within the state of Oregon.

    The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the Department of the Army Civil Works announce a Notice of Availability for a 45-day public comment period in the Federal Register for an interpretive rule for the 404(f)(1)(A) exemption under the Clean Water Act. The public comment period begins on April 21, 2014 and ends on June 05, 2014.

  • Public Comment: Environmental Assessment for decommissioning and disposal of the MH-1A STURGIS Barge

    BALTIMORE (Jan. 24, 2014) - The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Baltimore District conducted an Environmental Assessment to evaluate potential ecological, cultural, water, public health and safety and waste management effects associated with the proposed decommissioning and disposal of the MH-1A STURGIS, a former nuclear reactor barge. The Environmental Assessment determined there would be no significant environmental impact as a result of this proposed action.

  • Public comment period open for Corps to perform bank stabilization work

    ST. PAUL, Minn. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, has prepared a Section 404 evaluation, in compliance with the Clean Water Act, in order to perform streambank stabilization work on the Eau Galle River, downstream of the Eau Galle Dam in Spring Valley, Wis.
