  • Corps seeks public comments on Big Sand Lake shoreline stabilization

    ST. PAUL, Minn. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, is seeking public comments on its draft environmental assessment for the proposed Big Sand Lake shoreline stabilization project in Burnett County, Wisconsin, within the St. Croix Chippewa Reservation.
  • Corps developing long-term plans for Cottage Grove and Dorena lakes, wants public input

    The land-use plan (Master Plan or MP) for Cottage Grove and Dorena lakes is out-of-date, and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Corps) is in the process of updating it. Corps staff are seeking input from the public on MP development during four upcoming information sessions.
  • Corps, partners host Long Tom River dam modification info session

    The City of Monroe, Oregon, and the Confederated Tribes of Siletz Indians have entered an agreement with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Corps) to study the feasibility of improving fish passage near the Monroe drop structure on the Long Tom River. Public participation and feedback are important, and the Corps and its partners will seek input during an info session Nov. 3, 4-5 p.m.
  • Rathbun Lake 2021 fall water release likely to be cancelled

    At present, Rathbun pool elevation is about half a foot above multipurpose 904.0 feet. Current conditions at Rathbun Lake appear to be unfavorable for the U.S. Army of Corps of Engineers to conduct a fall water release in either late September or early October 2021.
  • U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to host public involvement process for the Conchas Lake Master Plan revision

    The Albuquerque District is revising the Conchas Lake Master Plan. The public is invited to view an informational presentation found on their website discussing the draft revision of the Master Plan, the overall revision process, and instructions for public participation in the revision.
  • Corps seeks public comments on Humble Canal Draft Environmental Assessment

    The New Orleans District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers released the draft environmental assessment for the “Mississippi River and Tributaries, Morganza to the Gulf of Mexico, Louisiana Humble Canal Gate Site Preparation and Initial Levee Preload,” and is seeking public comment through Sept. 11, 2021.
  • Officials invite public comment on Rathbun Lake fall releases

    In 2016 in response to stakeholder input, the Corps of Engineers revised its operating guidance for Rathbun Lake. The new guidance allows for an annual opportunity, every autumn, for the lake to schedule a release of water to benefit state and privately managed conservation and recreational areas downstream in the Chariton watershed.
  • Mississippi River Commission cancels Upper Mississippi River portion of low water inspection trip but still plans to conduct Lower Mississippi River portion

    Due to the rising cases of COVID, the Mississippi River Commission (MRC) has canceled the Upper Mississippi River portion of its annual low water inspection trip on board the Motor Vessel MISSISSIPPI, which was scheduled for August 15-20, 2021. The health and safety for people is a priority during this critical time in our nation. The MRC still intends to conduct the Lower Mississippi River portion of the low water inspection trip and public hearings scheduled for August 22-27, 2021. Four public meetings have been scheduled aboard the Motor Vessel MISSISSIPPI in select towns along the river.
  • Jacksonville District posts log-on details for July 15 Ponte Vedra Beach study presentations

    (July 8, 2021) – The Jacksonville District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, has posted detailed log-on instructions for public participation in its previously announced virtual (online) Ponte Vedra Beach Coastal Storm Risk Management Feasibility Study. The presentations, which will include time for questions and comments, will be conducted July 15, 2021, from 3-5 p.m. and from 6-8 p.m.

Subtitle III, National Historic Preservation Act, inviting concerns and comments regarding a proposed Memorandum of Agreement with the Michigan State Historic Preservation Office to erect a structure to provide office space necessary for the Integrated Project Office, New Lock at the Soo to execute and oversee construction at the Soo Locks Complex.
