    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District awarded a $3.2 million contract Sept. 18 to Federal Solutions Group, Inc. of Dublin to construct an engineering and housing maintenance shop at Military Ocean Terminal Concord, better known as MOTCO.

  • Army Corps awards $15.9 million for engineer facility on Beale AFB

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District awarded a $15,947,269 contract to MACNAK Korte Group LLC of Lakewood, Wash., June 10 to build a new civil engineer administration and operations facility at Beale Air Force Base.

    The task: build a state-of-the-art, world-class medical facility in five years. The result: the $1 billion Fort Belvoir Community Hospital, a model of modern military medical facilities that now stands where a golf course once existed on post.
  • Corps awards $8.9 million for two American River levee improvements near bridges

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District awarded an $8,918,970 contract to Pacchiosi Drill U.S.A. of New York April 14, for two levee improvement projects near bridges that cross the lower American River in Sacramento. Minimal to no impacts are expected to commuter or recreational traffic on the bridges and nearby trails.
  • Kentucky Lock team receives Nashville District’s Hedgehog Award

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A construction team at the Kentucky Lock Addition Project, which stepped up to manage the repair of a hydropower unit at Barkley Power Plant, received the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District’s Hedgehog Award Feb. 11 at the district’s headquarters.

  • 2014 New Mexico Earth Science Achievement Awards

    The winners of the 2014 New Mexico Earth Science Achievement Awards were recently announced. This year the awards will go to Marcy L. Leavitt of the Albuquerque District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for outstanding contributions advancing the role of earth science in areas of public service and public policy in New Mexico, and to Dr. David S. Gutzler of the University of New Mexico for outstanding contributions advancing the role of earth science in areas of applied science and education in New Mexico.
